"My family & I had a wonderful & relaxing time! We really liked the cottage- it was spacious & yet cosy with a large verandah where we had our meals & spent a lot of time! There are lovely gardens & a great swimming pool which is a good size with a big shallow end so ideal for children or lazing! The staff were charming, very attentive & keen to help. We hired a cook who was excellent & very willing to give us the very best. There is a authentic, Kenyan-coast feel about the cottage & area- casual luxury! . There are 3 other cottages so there is fellowship if you want it but it is not noisy! Old style" Watamu outside the compound- a short walk (10 minutes) to a lovely beach where one could if you wanted walk to other bays. The indian ocean & beaches are glorious- Watamu has many activities which are easily accessible with cheap tuk tuks or taxis. I would highly recommend Baobab village. It is charming & very good value!"

"The kitchen was not particularly clean.they may need to fumigate. They should offer a laundry service. We had to look for the utensils. They should be easily placed in the kitchen."

"The dish rack needed a good scrub and the chopping board was very stained and did not look good so we bought our own. Cutlery was kept in a tray on the bench without a cover and as is normal in the tropics there are many insects so it would be good if the tray can be covered. The electricity never seemed to be stable enough to use the air conditioner which is one of these main reasons I booked this house. Luckily the weather was not hot. The ceiling fan fell off the ceiling whilst on at night and whilst it was fixed promptly the next day, it could have injured someone."

"It was a great location and suited us for the relaxing break we wanted. Special mention to Franklin who cleaned beautifully every day and resolved any small issues promptly and also helped us when we had a problem with our return flight from Malindi. Also, Gorgeous who was also helpful with carrying in luggage and shopping, and finally chef Eric who made us four lovely dinners!"

"Nothing we didn’t like but one little suggestion, I think a welcome pack would be really useful to save guests having to go straight to the supermarket after a long journey. Maybe some water, fruit, bread and butter, even if a small charge is made for this. For us personally, a couple of cold beers would have been lovely!"

"Airport transfer was advertised in the advert. However, it was a separate arrangement. An inclusive charge to include the shuttle to and from the airport and breakfast for a little extra would be a good improvement."

"We did not want to leave. It's a beautiful villa with a jungle feeling, well designed and pretty. The staff are literally angels. Pool is perfect, house is solar powered during power outages, it is close to one of the prettiest beaches in Kenya. We could cook fish and Eric the cook helps you negotiate a good price. When you're here visit Gedi Ruins, Garoda beach, Marine park and Mida Creek. Papa Remo has good parties on Saturdays. There are many beach boys in the area, they're friendly and if you don't like what they're saying just ignore them."

"Definitely not beachfront. If you are booking it because it's labelled as beachfront you will be disappointed. There's a tunnel you can use after a 5 minute walk but only on low tide and you have to walk through coral, we could only use it once in 7 days. Otherwise you walk around 12 minutes to the beach using the road."

"The staff were excellent. Franklin was especially helpful and responsive. Ronald, the chef was also very good and helpful in purchasing fresh seafood for us on a daily basis. The Host, Daniele's communication was excellent. He was very responsive to issues that arose. The Villa was very clean, spacious and ideal for our big family group."

"Unfortunately we had an issue with being allowed access to the covered parking area for our car which resulted in damage to our car. However, Daniele and Franklin were very apologetic and tried their best to resolve the issue and offered to assist in payment for the damage. I think it should be made more clear in the description that the Villa's are on a shared compound and that the swimming pool is also shared by guests from all the Villas."
