"Fare Manutea is a beautiful place to stay. It has stunningly beautiful views and Annie is a fabulous host. We had a lovely breakfast with her each morning and enjoyed good conversations. She took us to the town when we needed to go there and picked us up. Tours are arranged with Annie's daughter and we thoroughly enjoyed a full day tour."

"We feel so privileged to visit Fare Manutea on the beautiful island of Nuku Hiva. A breathtaking view of Taioha'e Bay greeted us every day of our 8 day visit. Annie was the most gracious hostess, looking after us in all respects. Such a comfortable bungalow and lovely breakfasts with her and a marvelous dinner with her and her family. Always making sure we have all we need and taking us into the village and showing us around. Her knowledge of the island, the history and Marquesan people is fantastic and we learnt so much. Merci beaucoup to Annie and Laurane for organising the excursions and boat trips - to Hakaui to see Vaipõ waterfall, the archeological sites, Hatiheu, Anaho, Taipivai and all the places in between. We will always remember the endemic birds we saw, especially the Upe!, Mantas, feeding the sharks and the eels, the snorkeling and the picture perfect viewpoints of this island paradise. Laurane is an amazing guide."

"The only things that we wished were different were totally beyond the pencione's control - the noise from chickens, dogs and cars in the valley that start at 4am. The alarming number of neglected and abandoned dogs and cats in the villages were upsetting to us."

"La vue sur Ua Pou est incroyable ! Les discussions avec Annie sont passionnantes, beaucoup d'anecdotes Le bungalow est excentré de la maison principale, on s'y sent bien"

"- la vue époustouflante au petit déjeuner - les excursions proposées par la fille de la propriétaire, tiki excursions, parfaites pour découvrir l'île. - la proprietaire, Annie, qui aime partager ses expériences et anecdotes sur son île quelle parcourt depuis plus de 30 ans."

"- Rien mais il faut prendre en compte de l'accès un peu raide au logement et du centre ville a 15 min a pied. Toutefois cela n'a pas été du tout un probleme pour nous, nous avons fait du stop tres facilement et aimons bien marcher."

"Great host, with good energy, who picked me up from quay. His accommodation was only 10 minutes away. I slept in a tent with a very good, firm mattress. Not soft. In the afternoon it can be hot in the tent, so this makes it difficult to do a nap. A camping stove is available, so this was very welcomed. Onside a nice relaxing beach, where you can enjoy the water with paddling, just swimming or gaze at the ocean. During the night this area was quiet. Bathroom is near the house and supplies cold and hot water. He knows where to get good food, and cheap transport. A mosquito net may be handy next time. I really recommend this place."

"Actually i did not have breakfast although it should have been included! It seems you must order it the night before BUT I was not told that at check in so.... But everything else about the place and my stay was excellent. The location was terrific, walking distance to the waterfront and the market, the garden was lovely with loungers and sitting out areas and beautiful trees and bushes and my room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and effecient and there was a mini mart just nearby. The transport to the airport was good and reasonable. I wish i could have stayed longer!"

"Owner was punctual and resourceful, unit was extremely clean, had basic cooking and cleaning supplies, bed was comfortable, private and quiet. Ocean with with trees to block out the heat of the sun. Loved the combination kitchen / patio / eating area on the terrace."

"This was a really great location with lovely amenities and very helpful hosts. It was also well equipped for cooking your own simple meals and had good supermarkets nearby. We also really enjoyed the lovely pool - the property was kept really clean and had lovely gardens and the benefit of parking. We had a great stay with our teenage daughter."

"Was in a good location (for the golf course) next to a beach and easy to find. Lodge was well stocked, everything you could possibly need and the food provided by the host for evening meal was amazing, beautifully cooked and so tasty. Breakfast provided was minimal but additions available at a cost. Host was welcoming and happy to help with anything."

"Great place to stay in Moorea. Sarah and Sebastian were very welcoming and had a lot of tips for activities, beaches and restaurants. We stayed 2 nights in one of the rooms downstairs and another 4 nights in the room upstairs. Both rooms were nice, but upstairs is a lot brighter and bigger and has a nice view to the mountains from the balcony. The outdoor area with pool is very nice."
